What this page says, in five lines
The details follow, section by section.
- We collect the details you send us so we can answer your enquiry and work on your project.
- We use analytics and advertising tools from Google and Meta. They measure how our website and our ads perform, and they can show our ads to people who have visited our website.
- We do not sell your personal information.
- You can turn off ad tracking with the links in section 4.
- You can ask to see, correct or delete your information (section 8).
Who we are
The business behind this website, and who answers for privacy.
Harmony Basements designs and builds basement renovations in Toronto and the GTA. In this policy, “we” and “us” mean Harmony Basements Corp.
Our Vaughan design centre is at 156 Chrislea Road, Unit 4, Woodbridge, Ontario L4L 8V1.
The person responsible for privacy at Harmony Basements is Diego Botia. You can reach him at info@harmonybasements.ca or 905-669-9039.
What we collect
What you send us, and the basic technical information that comes with it.
Our forms ask for your name, your email address, your phone number, your neighbourhood or city, what you are planning, and anything you choose to tell us.
We keep what you enter on our website, in our forms and in our tools, along with basic technical information: the page you were on, how you reached our website, your IP address, your browser type, and the date and time. When you arrive on our website from one of our ads, we also record your IP address, your internet provider, your approximate location (city and postal area), your device and browser type, and which ad you clicked, so we can detect fraudulent clicks; we keep this record for 30 days, then delete it, and we never sell it or share it. We also use an analytics tool from Microsoft (Microsoft Clarity) that shows us, in anonymised form, how visitors use our pages (heatmaps and recordings of scrolling, clicks and taps), so we can improve the website; it does not record what you type into our forms. See the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
When you call, email, message or visit us, we keep what you tell us and what you send us, such as plans or photos of your space, so we can prepare your design and quote. If we prepare a proposal for you, you view it on our private client site, which keeps a record of your visits to it.
Please do not send sensitive information through our forms. That includes banking details, health information or government ID numbers.
Cookies and similar technologies
The tools on our website that use them, and what each one is for.
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies from these providers:
- Google Analytics: measures visits to our website and what people do on it.
- Google Ads and Google Tag Manager: measure whether our ads lead to enquiries, and can show our ads to people who have visited our website.
- Meta Pixel: does the same for our ads on Facebook and Instagram.
- Our hosting and security provider: keeps the website running and protects our forms from robots.
When you send a form, the advertising tools can receive a scrambled (“hashed”) form of the contact details you typed. It is used only to match and measure advertising results. The providers do not send your contact details back to us.
Some pages include content from other companies, such as 3D tours, videos, maps and fonts. When that content loads or you play it, that company’s privacy policy applies to it. The same is true when you contact us through WhatsApp or social media.
Advertising and your choices
How past visits are used for advertising, and how to turn that off.
We advertise online, including on Google, Facebook and Instagram. After you visit our website, other companies, including Google and Meta, may show you our ads on other websites and apps. They use cookies and device identifiers to show ads based on your past visits to our website. We never use sensitive information, such as health, to choose who sees our ads. Our website is not meant for children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Google Analytics advertising features. Where these features are switched on for our account (such as remarketing and Google signals), we and third-party vendors, including Google, use first-party cookies (such as the Google Analytics cookie) and third-party cookies (such as Google advertising cookies) together to show ads based on past visits to our website and to measure them. You can opt out with the links below.
How to opt out
- Google ads: turn off personalized ads at adssettings.google.com.
- Google Analytics: install Google’s opt-out browser add-on from tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
- Facebook and Instagram: go to Accounts Center, then Ad preferences, then “Activity information from ad partners”, at accountscenter.facebook.com/ad_preferences.
- Many ad companies at once (Canada): use the AdChoices tools of the Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada at youradchoices.ca/en/tools.
- Your browser and phone: you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. You can also reset or limit your phone’s advertising ID in its settings.
Opting out does not stop ads. It stops ads that are based on your visits. Most opt-outs are saved in your browser. If you clear your cookies or use another browser or device, you may need to opt out again.
How we use your information
Only for the work you asked us about, and to run and improve the website.
We use your information to:
- answer your enquiry and arrange your design session
- prepare your floor plan, drawings, 3D model and quote
- carry out your project and honour our written warranty
- keep our forms free of spam and robots
- understand how people use our website, and improve it
- measure our advertising, and show our ads to people who have visited our website (section 4)
- meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use it for other purposes without your consent, unless the law allows or requires it.
How long we keep it, and where
As long as the work, the warranty and the law need it.
We keep enquiries and project records for as long as we need them for the purposes in section 5, including our written warranty and our tax and legal obligations. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (section 8).
Our service providers store and process information in Canada and in other countries, including the United States. Information stored in another country is subject to that country’s laws. Its courts, police and national-security authorities may be able to access it.
Your rights
Under Canada’s private-sector privacy law (PIPEDA).
You can:
- ask what information we hold about you, how we have used it and who we have shared it with, and get a copy
- ask us to correct it if it is wrong or incomplete
- withdraw your consent, for example by asking us to stop contacting you or to delete your enquiry. Legal or contract obligations may prevent us from deleting some records; if so, we will tell you. If you withdraw consent, we may not be able to prepare a design or quote for you.
- ask questions or make a complaint about how we handle your information
How to ask: email info@harmonybasements.ca with the subject “Privacy request”, or call 905-669-9039. You can also write to us at the design centre address in section 1. We may need to confirm your identity first. We reply within 30 days. If we need more time, we will tell you why within those 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.
Keeping it safe, and changes to this policy
What protects your information, and how you will know if this page changes.
Our website uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Only the Harmony staff who handle enquiries, and the service providers who maintain our systems, can access your information. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we will tell you and the Privacy Commissioner, as the law requires.
When we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and the date at the top.

Ninety minutes with the person who will draw your basement
At your home or at our Vaughan design centre. No obligation, and no commissioned sales rep. The person who designs your basement also prices it and prepares the permit drawings, so nothing gets lost between people.
- 01
We call you
At a time that suits you, to set the session and hear what you have in mind.
- 02
We measure and listen
We measure the basement and see what the house will allow; you tell us how you want to use it. Then we draw every layout it can have, and you pick one.
- 03
You have the price before we leave
Before the visit ends, you have a line-by-line price for the layout you picked, written against a detailed drawing, electrical and HVAC included. The 3D model and the 360° VR walkthrough let you see it before you sign. Within 24 hours of your go-ahead, that same drawing becomes part of the permit package we prepare and submit.
