Harmony Basements is a basement renovation company serving Toronto and the GTA from its own design centre in Vaughan. It was founded in 2012 by Diego Botia, Architectural Designer, B.Arch, and he still draws the basements.
We do one thing: basements. Renovations, finishing, legal basement apartments, design and permits — drawn, priced and built by the same practice, with twenty years of building basements behind it.
The order never changes. A design session at your home; a detailed AutoCAD floor plan with the electrical and HVAC laid out, a 3D model and a 360° VR walkthrough before you sign; an itemized quote written against that drawing, with no allowances; the permit drawings prepared in-house and filed for you; four to six weeks on site; a lifetime workmanship warranty. Construction is managed by us and built by trade partners we have worked with for years, not by whoever is free that week.
You follow the job in a client portal — photographs and video of every stage, upgrades and payments online — and one team stays accountable for the result, from the first drawing to the final walkthrough.

Permit drawings and every application are prepared in-house at $0.00, a $2,825.00+ professional value; the municipality’s own permit fee is paid by the homeowner. We are insured, and every trade on site carries workers’ compensation coverage. Below grade we build with mould-resistant boards, a moisture barrier under the floor, luxury vinyl plank and LED lighting throughout — the materials are on the why us page, line by line, and the energy-efficient choices on their own.

Ninety minutes with the person who will draw your basement
At your home or at our Vaughan design centre. No obligation, and no commissioned sales rep. The person who designs your basement also prices it and prepares the permit drawings, so nothing gets lost between people.

We call you
At a time that suits you, to set the session and hear what you have in mind.

We measure and listen
We measure the basement and see what the house will allow; you tell us how you want to use it. Then we draw every layout it can have, and you pick one.
- 03
You have the price before we leave
Before the visit ends, you have a line-by-line price for the layout you picked, written against a detailed drawing, electrical and HVAC included. The 3D model and the 360° VR walkthrough let you see it before you sign. Within 24 hours of your go-ahead, that same drawing becomes part of the permit package we prepare and submit.
